There is about 20 mins of footage. Here clips 1-4. No filters. transitions, just cuts into clips. A lantern in floating bag and headlamp held or worn cast light against the water and into the camera. These clips make it hard to tell what is being filmed. In other parts of the footage the person, boat and sometimes the dock are easily discernable. Lot of ways to use this: I first imagine these brief clips and non descript clips inserted into an longer, highly colorful shot -maybe in a park with one or more people, pedestrian movement or dance. Maybe some are watching, contemplating others just moving or going about their day. Then as the video unfolds other clips from the footage that show the boat and the person and all the elements behind the light show could be included. OR NOT. just one idea. The is a lot that this could be used for. Existential stuff, religious, loneliness etc. lot of philosophy, lot of serenity, isolation- man in darkness - chasing/chased by light. or no man view light as some spirituality type thing. Plato and the cave????? lots of potential nothing set. Musically I see a lot of potentially but I don't want to go near this with sound for a while-SEE where it goes first. Also some sections have gorgeous paddle sounds with only crickets in the background. Maybe get that in later.

dish1_clip2

    Watch the video

lake kayaking between 1:30 and 5:30 am some morning in July 2006.
